Mahidol University is a public research university in Thailand. It originated with Siriraj Hospital's medical school, founded in 1888, and was named after Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, father of modern medicine and public health in Thailand, in 1969.
Its main campus is at Salaya in Nakhon Pathom province, west of Bangkok, with major campuses at Phaya Thai and Bangkok Noi (Siriraj). Mahidol is renowned for medicine and health sciences, with faculties including Siriraj, Ramathibodi and Tropical Medicine, as well as science, engineering, ICT, social sciences, music (College of Music) and the English-taught Mahidol University International College (MUIC).
Most programmes are taught in Thai, with English-taught international programmes at MUIC and graduate level. Thai students apply through TCAS.
