About Universities DB

Universities DB is a free, independent directory that helps students and parents find and compare universities around the world. It currently lists 198 universities in 65 countries, organised by country and city, with tuition, admissions, programs, rankings and contact details in one consistent format.

Why we built it

Choosing a university abroad usually means opening dozens of tabs: every university website is organised differently, fees are hard to find, and it's not always clear who to contact. We bring the essentials together so you can shortlist quickly, then go straight to the university's official website or admissions team for the details.

How we keep information accurate

  • Information comes from each university's official website first, cross-checked with open reference data such as Wikidata.
  • Where we can't confirm a figure (for example tuition or acceptance rate), we leave it blank rather than guess.
  • Every listing shows when it was last checked, and links to a full explanation of our methods.
  • Universities can claim their listing for free to correct and update it. Listings marked "Verified by the university" have been reviewed by the university itself.
  • Anyone can report an error from any listing, and we review every report.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help research public information and draft listings and articles. AI output is treated as a draft: it is checked against official sources before publication, and it never decides what we recommend. We don't send students' enquiries or other personal data to AI services.

How the site is funded

Universities DB is free for students, and basic listings are free for every university. Universities can pay for optional Premium or Featured plans that add photos, more detail and extra visibility; these listings are clearly labelled. Payment never changes the facts we publish about a university, and we don't sell students' personal data.

Contacting universities through us

The enquiry form on each listing sends your question to the university's admissions team, who reply to you directly. If a university hasn't joined Universities DB yet, we hold your enquiry and pass it on when it does. See our privacy policy for details.
