Seoul National University (SNU) is a national research university in Seoul, South Korea, established in 1946. It is widely regarded as the most prestigious university in Korea.
Its main Gwanak campus in southern Seoul houses colleges of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, agriculture and life sciences, business administration, education, fine arts, music, and human ecology, while medicine, dentistry and nursing are at the Yeongeon campus. SNU also operates graduate schools including law, public administration and international studies.
Most teaching is in Korean, with an increasing number of English-taught courses, especially at graduate level. International students apply directly, and scholarships such as the Global Korea Scholarship are available.
